SERAC coordinates a regional prevention committee for all community representatives interested in collaborating on activities across the continuum of prevention. Representives include members from youth service bureaus, local coalitions and councils, treatment providers, and health districts. The monthly meets monthly at the SERAC office location.
The committee focuses on issues related to (but not limited to): underage drinking efforts, prescription drug misuse, heroin overdose deaths, tobacco/nicotine prevention, gambling awareness, suicide prevention, trauma response and other related issues and trends in our region. The committee was originally formed in 2008 and is always encouraging new membership. If you are interested in more information or becoming a member please contact Angela Rae Duhaime, M.A. at 860-848-2800.
